We can’t contain our excitement any longer. Regular Girl is featured in the November/December edition of Oxygen magazine! We feel like a celebrity. Oxygen Fitness Editor Lara McGlashan, MFA, CPT wrote an article about probiotics and prebiotic fiber. She explained the difference between these two health boosters and explained why you need both for a healthy gut. We couldn’t agree more, Lara! This article also featured a gorgeous picture of our on-the-go individual serving packets. We’re overjoyed by the exposure from this leading source of women’s health and fitness news.
Probiotics vs. prebiotics
McGlashan explained that probiotics are, “the good bugs that keep your digestive system healthy by controlling the growth of harmful bacteria and enhancing the absorption of nutrients in your gut.” She added that they, “work to improve your immune system function, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, and keep you regular.”
Prebiotics, McGlashan noted, are plant fibers that nourish the existing bacteria in your gut, “helping them grow and improving the good-to-bad bacterial ratio.”
A daily dose of prebiotics and probiotics helps keep your insides happy and healthy
She suggested consuming these good guys in combination for the “ideal gut-vironment”. That’s when the spotlight shines on Regular Girl. Each serving of Regular Girl contains clinically proven prebiotic fiber (Sunfiber which is sourced from the guar bean) and active probiotics (clinically proven Bifidobacterium lactis). The result? Wonderfully balanced intestinal health.
The bottom of the page features fab finds which contain helpful prebiotics or probiotics … or in the case of Regular Girl, both! About Regular Girl, McGlashan wrote: “Throw a serving into a juice, smoothie or protein shake and get five grams of prebiotic fiber and eight billion active probiotics.”
And don’t forget, Regular Girl won’t affect the taste, odor or texture of your drink. So you can be good to your belly without dissing your taste buds. Now, that’s star power!
